The Foodies Christmas Festival

The Foodies Christmas Festival will be returning to Edinburgh from 13th – 15th November 2015 at the EICC and what better way to kick start your Christmas celebrations than an afternoon of foodie indulgence? Just like the Summer festival (read my review here) you can expect a weekend chock full of artisan food suppliers, lush street food vendors and more cocktails than you can shake a stick it.

What to Expect

The Foodies Festival is featuring over 150 artisan producers in their Christmas market where you can sample and shop till your hearts content. This festival is ideal to stock up on everything you need for the big day: Stocking fillers, foodie hampers, Christmas cakes, minced pies and all the booze you need to keep you going until 2016.

After you’ve shopped, head over to Pudding Hall for a well-earned treat of eggnogg, mulled wine, mulled cider, mince pies and macaroons. If you fancy something a little stronger there will also be cocktail, wine, champagne and beer master-classes (ideal if you’re hosting a Hogmanay bash) or you can relax in style at the Champagne Ski Bar.

If you’ve managed to work up an appetite (just remember to arrive hungry) the Street Food Village will not to disappoint but don’t forget to head over to the Aga Rangemaster Chef’s Theatre where:

  • Jamie Scott the 2015 Masterchef Professionals winner
  • Scott Davies, chef from Michelin star Restaurant Three Chimneys on Isle of Skye
  • Three Sisters Bake

and several others will be sharing their recipes & top tips to help you create the perfect Christmas feast.

Even the kids will be in their element experimenting with a range of treats to leave out for Santa and learning how to make snowballs, gingerbread men and cookies at the Elf Cookery School.

3

Throughout the day you will also be treated to live music, Christmas carols and festive entertainment. Just remember to wear your best Christmas jumper and capture a snap in the photo-booth!

Ticket prices range from £11 (concession) – £38 (VIP) although children aged 12 years or younger will go free when accompanied with adults. Admission to the master-classes and chef theatres are free although tickets are released throughout the day on a first come, first serve basis. Information is available at the Registration Point.

Festival opening times are:

  • Friday 13th November: 5pm – 9pm
  • Saturday 14th November: 10am – 6pm
  • Sunday 15th November: 10am – 5pm
